Shake it for Kids

Childhood Obesity
Australia and New Zealand now have one of the highest rates of childhood obesity amongst all the developed nations, with approximately 25% of children currently overweight or obese.

If your child is overweight or obese it is not only their future health that we need to be concerned about but also the state of their current health.

  • How does your child feel about their current weight?
  • Do they get teased at school because of their weight?
  • How is being overweight or obese limiting your child?
  • What other activities would your child like to do if they physically could or had the energy?

Encourage outdoor activities and time in the sun for 30 minutes a day

Your practitioner may recommend Multi Care for Kids.

Multi Care for Kids is a multivitamin and mineral formula for healthy growth and development. Highly bioavailable forms of minerals, such as Meta Mag™ Magnesium and Meta Fe Iron, are combined with essential vitamins for children.

Directions: Children 4-12 years: Take 1 metric teaspoon (4.0 g) in 100 mL of water. Take once daily or as directed by your healthcare professional.

Is a higher protein diet safe for my child?
Thorough research exists to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of moderate protein, high fat and low carbohydrate diets such as Shake It for Kids in children. Such dietary changes will not produce any adverse outcomes in long-term growth or health in overweight or obese children, but will ensure they regain a healthy body composition to ensure long term health.

My child is growing - will this program suit their growing needs?
The protein shake included in the Shake It for Kids Program has been enriched with medium-chain triglycerides to provide additional energy for growing children. This coupled with the required amounts of vegetables and quality protein in the diet will ensure this program is suitable. If you have any concerns consult your healthcare professional.

My child plays a lot of sport - is this diet suitable?
Moderate daily activity is encouraged for children on Shake It for Kids. If your child is doing more than 1 hour of moderate intensity exercise, such as playing lots of sport, it may be necessary on those days to include a rehydration formula to replenish energy stores. Consult your healthcare professional for the correct formula to use.
